Beetroot - Makes Healthy and Beautiful in Cold Weather

The use of beetroot as a salad in Indian food thali is quite prevalent. This dark reddish-purple color is often eaten due to its blood enhancing properties. Apart from the iron element, vitamins are also found in sugar beet. Regular intake of vitamin A, B, B1, B2, B6, and Vitamin C is easily fulfilled.

Few people know that beetroot does not contain much iron content, but the iron content from it is of high quality, which is particularly important for blood formation. This is the reason why the consumption of beetroot is very beneficial in removing many harmful substances from the body.

Another important fact regarding beetroot is that apart from its tuber, the consumption of green leaves of beetroot is also very beneficial. These leaves have three times more iron content than tubers. Vitamin A is also found in plenty in the leaves.

The tuber and its leaves act as a "cleanser" for blood formation and to remove harmful substances from the body. Beet contains a sufficient amount of potassium, sodium, calcium, manganese, and fiber. Beet intake also provides energy due to the presence of digestible sugars.

It is believed that the beet's dark red color is due to the abundance of iron elements in it, but the fact is that the beet's dark red color is due to a pigment (beta cyanine) found in it. Due to their anti-oxidant properties, these dyes are considered good for health.

Folic acid, potassium and soft fiber found in beetroot also enhance its nutritional properties. Regular intake of beetroot helps in keeping the entire body healthy.

Although beetroot still does not get a proper place in our daily diet, eating it regularly not only benefits in many diseases but also provides skin beauty. This increases the hemoglobin and consequently the redness of the face increases.
